Recently, I have been trying out the not so hyped under £5 Collection Lash Surge mascara. Even though this product hasn't received the same amount of attention as its fellow mascaras, the duo of Sophia and Cinzia claim this mascara to be 'just so good!' (and their lashes always do look stunning.) So, of course, I had to give it a try.
When choosing my mascara, I'm not that fussy when it comes to the brand or formula, yet I practically know from the first application whether it will be a hit or miss. After staying comfortable with multiple Benefit They're Real mascara samples (I think we're all guilty of this at some point) until they were practically all too dry to use, I needed to switch up my routine, and I wasn't prepared to pay the price. At first, I was sceptical of the Collection mascara as the wand on first glance was not my usual go to. However, the wet formula is ultra black, with the brush picking up a lot of product. For me, I personally don't like too much product as it tends to clump after the first layer, not with this mascara though! This wand coats every lash perfectly, giving you a look that is both volumising and lengthening.
Normally, for me, it's very hard to find a mascara that does not smudge under my eyes or on my eyelids due to oily skin problems. So, as for longevity, I have put this mascara to the ultimate test. After wearing it to the gym multiple times and in this temperamental weather it did occasionally transfer underneath my eyes and would definitely come off if I rubbed my eyes - but that's understandable. Even though this did happen, I would still definitely reach for this mascara again, as it easily holds a long-lasting fluttery curl. This is especially impressive with my straight and sometimes hard to curl lashes.
Overall, the Collection Lash Surge has become my go-to trusty mascara, making it into my makeup bag - that must be good!

Oooooo I'm definitely going to get this and give it a try. I love mascara but am guilty of always sticking to the same one and the same tube until it's super dry and old. I've yet to find THE ONE though when it comes to mascara and for under £5 this one sounds like a bargain. xx
ReplyDeleteI recommend it so much! I love mascaras even more when they are slightly drier - don't know why?!

So upsetting that I can't buy this mascara in the states as I have the oiliest skin and sounds like this could be perfect for me! Such a bummer, maybe the next time I go to London I can splurge on the makeup I can't normally get and purchase this one. Love your photo and graphics for this post by the way <3
ReplyDeleteYes, next time you come over definitely buy this mascara and so many more cult beauty favourites. Glad, you like the graphics, trying something new out!

It feels so nostalgic to be back on your blog, I used to love it a few years ago when I first started and always wondered what had happened to you! I'm trying not to buy any more mascara because I have so many that I need to use up- I love the Too Faced better than sex mascara and the Seventeen Falsify HD, they're amazing! I'm super excited to see what you have in store

DeleteI've never tried the Too Faced mascara, even though there's so much hype, I can never justify spending too much on makeup!

I'm in the same boat. The less I can spend on makeup the better - unless it is so hyped I cave in!

Love makeup products which do the job and are also a bargain! This sounds great. I am definitely one to stick to the same mascara so I'll be sure to give this one a good next time I change things up a bit :) x

I can't stop raving about this price!! Definitely worth a go
DeleteThis was really interesting! I have really curly long lashes naturally so I try to avoid mascaras that claim to curl and look more for volume as I think mine are on the thinner side. This one sounds great for the price! I might check out one of their others and see if they're as good, without the curl. I'm so fussy with mascaras, I think I've only ever used two in my life that I've actually liked so I don't tend to switch it up much in that department. Great review, sounds like you've found a great bargain x

Curl on top of curl is good!! My friend has naturally really curly lashes and when she wears this mascara (she also swears by it), it just makes her lashes look out of this world! So, I would still definitely say to check it out - maybe buy it on those boots points if you're unsure!

Beautiful pictures and sounds like a great masacara. I use MUA waterproof currently, but will definitely give this one a try! Xx
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, definitely give it a try, at least it's not breaking the bank, so worth a shot!

I like collection products. I have a lovely eye shadow pencil from them. I do need a new mascara, so this looks perfect for me!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved the concealer from them - I think everyone does - and this mascara is equally as amazing! You won't be breaking the bank with this one, so worth a shot!
